On September 5, 2025, Sustainable Impact Capital (SIC) marked its third anniversary—a significant milestone in its mission to drive cross-border impact investing. Themed “Internationalization × Investment Impact × Ecosystem Collaboration,” the forum brought together over 100 venture leaders, entrepreneurs, accelerators, and angel investors from Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and the U.S. to celebrate the connections, trust, and collective action built over the past three years.
▍A Global Starting Point: Connecting Taiwan to the World
Since its founding in 2022, SIC has built a cross-border network of 150+ angel investors across 13 global cities, participating in 30 impact-driven startup investments spanning smart manufacturing, agri-tech, healthcare, circular economy, and AI. With a solid foundation in Taiwan, SIC is now charting its next chapter—from Asia, to the world.
In his opening remarks, SIC Co-Founder Steve Lin emphasized:
“To generate real impact, Taiwan’s startup solutions must engage with international capital markets. We’re here to spotlight high-potential founders and invite global capital into Asia’s innovation wave.”

▍Investing in Impact: Beyond Capital, Toward Long-Term Value
Through five keynote sessions, speakers examined venture capital not just as financial input, but as long-term partnership rooted in shared values.
Jamie Lin, Founder of AppWorks, underscored the investor's responsibility to back not just "winning bets"—but founders creating sustained impact and value.
Simon Fang, Founding Partner of Darwin Venture Management, called for investors to see capital as a gateway to global dialogue, policy influence, and ecosystem engagement.
Albert Liu, Chairman of Fidelitas International Corporation, focused on the evolving role of investors as value creators—guiding due diligence, governance, and strategic direction.
Youchi Kuo, Chairperson of Forest Water Environmental, shared insights under the theme “From Problem-Solving to Co-Creation of Transformation.” The company integrates investment and operations to advance waste-to-resource transformation and innovation incubation, underscoring that enterprises are not only executors but also catalysts connecting solutions and amplifying impact.
In the panel discussion, SIC General Partner Joseph Hsieh was joined by Startup Island TAIWAN’s Chi Ko, Omni Ventures’ Webber Xu, eLAND’s Willie Yang, and Nandina REM’s Allison Nam. Together, they offered rich perspectives on Taiwan’s outbound startup strategy, covering international capital trends, founder challenges, data innovation, and cross-cultural collaboration.
▍Ecosystem Collaboration: Laying the Foundation for Taiwan’s Startup Future
SIC Co-Founder Amos Huang noted: “SIC invests not for short-term returns, but in entrepreneurs who balance financial performance with social impact. We look forward to co-creating a global venture ecosystem—connecting capital, talent, and resources—with like-minded partners.”
This year’s forum welcomed key ecosystem players, including AppWorks, TMU BioMed Accelerator, ITRI Green Tech Accelerator, Plug and Play, and AAMA. Together, they represent SIC’s expanding network of co-investment and value-creation partners across sectors and geographies.
▍Looking Ahead: Join SIC on the Next Leg of the Journey
SIC’s third anniversary is not an endpoint, but a springboard for global impact. As we move forward, SIC remains committed to its core—Angel Community × Startup Investment × Social Impact—and will continue bridging capital with mission-driven innovation, enabling more founders and investors to go further, together.
